BACKGROUND: The Second Annual Optus Senior Open brings together 60 professional golfers to compete for a $36,000 purse and the chance to move on to the Professional Golf Association (PGA) tour. Amateur golfers can compare their skills and learn a tip or two by playing with a professional golfer during the two-day Pro-Am on Sept. 10 and 11. In fact, two clinics � one for youth and one for women � will be held on Tues., Sept. 11 prior to the beginning of the Senior Open tour, which kicks off Wed., Sept. 12. Money raised during the event will be contributed to the University Chapter of the Rotary Club of Jonesboro.
